We hope you continue to enjoy looking at all the wonderful things we will be doing in class on our Twitter.
This half term, we will be learning about a local heroine, Kitty Wilkinson. We have a super museum visit planned for March 18th.
We will look at wash houses in the local area, notably Steble Street and talk to families and friends about their first-hand experiences.
In addition, we will continue our investigation of the seasons and changes in the weather, visiting Princes Park to see if we can spot any signs of Spring.
We will be reading
‘How to Wash a Woolly Mammoth’
Through ‘Talk for Writing’ the children will be writing insructions. Our visit will provide an opportunity to learn about recounts.
Please check the file below to find out what we’re learning about this half term.
Year 1 Phonics Check begins on Monday June 8th, 2020
Why not take a look at Jack Hartmann on YouTube and practise ‘Count to 100 and get fit!’ as well as ‘Number Bonds to 20’- we’ll be using it in class regularly.
Our PE day is Thursday. Please come in PE kits that day.
Homwork is sent home on Thursday and is due in by the following Wednesday. Reading books are changed on Friday. Please remember to read at home every night – this shouldnt just be a school reading book!
We hope that you and your child are enjoying sharing one of our Read, Write Inc texts. It is vital that these are returned on Friday.
